Hello All,

As most of you are aware Pack 99 is a non-profit, volunteer run organization. As such, it relies on involvement from Pack parents to be able to sustain and build upon the programs we have created. As for myself, I have been involved with the pack for the last 7+ years (since 2015) but my youngest son will be bridging out of Cub Scouts in a very short amount of time (in 2 months, March 2023). I have never volunteered for something like this until I came to the scouts and it has truly been a rewarding experience both from my own personal enrichment and to see all of these boys grow into young men. That all being said, we are always looking for volunteers but the one we especially need someone for right away is for my position, Communications Chair. No one needs to be an Information Technology person for this position (although people like this tend to really enjoy it). It is just a matter of maintaining our Teamapp site and when necessary and updating a few pages of our website. The heavy lifting of the setup is already all done and with a minimum amount of training the tools to update the content are very easy to use! In fact the new person will just be able to recycle a lot of the content of the posts that have already been built over the years, making it even easier. How much time will this take? Not much. We will need the communications person to attend a meeting once a month (first Wednesday of the month at 7pm) and then take meeting notes and then update teamapp with what leadership comes up with by communicating it back to the families. A little further down in priority but still important we are also looking to fill our treasurer position for next year. Ashley Miller’s son will be bridging out next year and we would like someone to follow along this year so there is a seamless transition next year. On a secondary note, we are also looking for some donations for the Tucker Family. They have been involved in Scouting 10+ years and have helped both the Pack and the Troop in countless ways! Just this past year they have donated a large expensive grill to use for our pack events, they have stepped in and filled treasurer/audit roles for our Pack when we did not have one, have come and helped us on our annual fishing day with recruiting and cooking, have helped with fund raising, and have donated countless hours to Scouting at Weddington. What is even more amazing is that their boys are older and they have done all of this while not even having a current Scout within the Pack!
