Historically our Operation Sandwich Saturday has been funded by donations from our community businesses and organizations. With earmarked funds for Sandwich Saturday’s now coming to a low balance, we have been asked by several for a tax-deductible form w/ tax ID that they can present to companies and organizations when seeking donations for Sandwich Saturday. Families are also able to donate to this program and receive a tax deduction.

What we would recommend, is seeking donations from local companies or organizations that you may frequent often, or may have a good relationship with. Often times a Scout in uniform will yield some type of monetary donation when they are the one to ask. Having this form on-hand to fill out for a donor, will make the process unquestionable, that the donation given is going towards our Sandwich Saturday program. The skill of speaking or “salesmanship” is also being learned by the Scout.

Attached in this post’s files, is a NC Cub Scout Pack 99 Sandwich Saturday Donor Form with our chartering organizations tax ID number. We are chartered by the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 2423, and they are a 501©(3). Since we operate under the VFW umbrella of tax-exempt status, donors can be assured that 100% of their donation goes towards the targeted Sandwich Saturday that this file indicates.

This is a great service opportunity for the Scouts and their families to help others. Scouts come together to help the community by making sandwiches for the Union County Community Shelter. Each event cost’s the Pack around $260-$300 for the supplies required.

It’s a simple process, it’s fun, and will help the scouts understand the importance of service and giving back to their community.
