Looks like there was some confusion with the phone number listed previously. Please call Sandra at 276-388-3056 (the number below has been modified as well) and give credit card info directly to her. They will only charge the card once the bikes are delivered directly to us on Saturday morning at the campground. If you have made reservations already please confirm with her that credit card info has been given. Payment information for the Pack/campground remains the same.

Always one of the favorite events of the year!

Overview:
We will be biking the first 17 mile stretch of the Virginia Creeper Trail which is a 35 mile long former railroad which in southern Virginia. It is one of the most popular cycling destinations in the United States. The trail passes through numerous small communities and traverses 47 bridges. This trail is great for all levels, including beginners! The first section of the Virginia Creeper Trail is very easy (mostly downhill) and the scenery is unforgettable!

We will be camping at https://creepertrailcampground.com/
It is located near the beginning of the trail for convenience. There is room for about 20 tents and an additional 10 in an overflow site if necessary. Camp fees will be $11 per person/per night and will cover campsite fees, firewood, some snacks, etc. For example is you have 3 in your family and are staying Friday and Saturday night it would be ($11×3people=$33, $33×2 nights=$66). Meals are managed by your own family or coordinate with your den. Note this does not cover the costs of the bike shuttle and/or rental. This is a separate fee as shown in the next section. We are riding the Whitetop to Damascus portion of the trail (see the elevation chart below). Due to the elevation of where we will be starting the trail on the top of Whitetop, the temperature will be cooler than at the bottom so it is recommended to dress in layers to be able to remove layers as you bike. It will also be a good idea to bring a small backpack to carry drinks and lunch (there is an ice cream shop in Damascus that we can stop at for lunch but we usually bring food for a nice to stop on the trail and have a group picnic lunch).
