Update 4/7/2022..
It is looking likely that this will not be an overnight event, but rather a day only event for Pack 99. We will need a minimum of 12 scouts to go forward of this event. The program will cost $14 and include a program from the park including: bow drill basics, orienteering 101, and a ranger guided hike to the Hickory Nut Falls as well as included a patch for each scout. Since it will only be our pack we have flexibility on a later start time. Please respond or update your response if necessary as soon as possible.

Update 3.24.2022…..

Currently we have on our schedule Spring Scout Day and Chimney Rock Campout on Saturday April 30th to Sunday May 1st. We have learned that this full event (overnight camping at the park) can only proceed with a minimum of 50 scouts from around the area. So far we are the only Pack to reach out and show interest. It does not seem to be a well publicized event from BSA (the girl scout day always sells out) so we have sent a message to council to see if they can drum up some additional interest but the outcome is unknown. We have enough scouts just in our pack alone to get that 50 number but they offered an alternative if they cannot get to the minimum number. They can offer our pack a day trip with two of the programs originally offered for the day along with a guide hike but camping will not be an option. Pricing for this event would be $14 per scout for admission, programs/guided hike and patches, $14 per adult and $6 per non-scout. If there are enough people interested in this and overnight camping we could do a different campground somewhere close in lieu of the camp inside the park.

2. Would be interested in a day only program but not interested in camping
3. Would only be interested if they had the full attendance and be able to camp in the park
