Attention all Cub Parents:

Please see the link for the next BALOO training event being offered in Mecklenburg. This is actually nearer than some of our own councils venues.

In a nutshell we are a large pack and as such plan multiple camping and overnight events.
We are required to have at least 1 BALOO (preferably 2 or more) trained person(s) at camp if we plan to stay overnight.
Currently, we only have 3 maybe 4 people in our pack with the training and this is insufficient to manage our pack activities. The result of having no BALOO trained person present on overnight adventures means the camp has to be CANCELLED. I am one of the current trained Baloo leaders and will be bridging out with the AOL den, potentially before the 2023 year ends.

WE NEED YOU!! As a pack we will pay for 2 people to attend the upcoming BALOO training in September. We need to have some leaders or parents who regularly attend the overnight adventures sign up for this coming event. We don’t have any alternative dates for this training at this time.
If we don’t keep trained leaders/parents in the pack we would be forced to cancel overnight adventures which we obviously don’t want to do. We need to have at least 2 people to offer to do this training so as to ensure the longevity of our scouting schedule of events.

Once trained you would not be expected to have to attend every single event. The thinking is that we can cover the requirements between those of us who have the training.

PLEASE consider putting yourselves forward for training if you come to the camp outs/overnight adventures.
