Attention AOL (5th Grade Scouts). You are a short few months away to officially bridging and becoming full Boy Scouts. As part of that transition you will be eligible for Boy Scout Summer Camp!
We are going to Camp Raven Knob the week of 7/23.
https://www.ravenknob.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYDTFRsEGbU&feature=emb_logoLocated a short 2 hours away at the NC/VA border, daytime temperatures in July average in the mid 80s and comfortable mid 60s at night. Since 1954, Scouts have made the trek to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains to enjoy mountain lakes, hiking trails, outstanding campfires, and so much more. With over 3,200 acres of wilderness complemented by great camping facilities, program facilities and a dedicated staff. Why go to summer camp? Scouts will be physically active, earn advancement, unplug from technology, connect with nature, build friendships and teamwork, grow independent, and most of all have fun!
We anticipate the total cost of base camp to be approximately $450 (this will include, camp costs, transportation, t-shirts, etc.). We will require a $155 deposit (By March 1st) to reserve your space.

Most merit badges will be included in that price but there will be additional fees for certain programs and merit badges that require additional supplies. Example: $5 for art, $10 for basketry, $10 for leatherwork, etc. See full list of program and supplies fees here:
https://www.ravenknob.com/files/43573/2023-Program-GuideAt that time you will send in your program requests. There is no guarantee your scout will get into a particular merit badge class so your scout will need to make a list of alternate merit badge preferences in case certain sessions fill up completely. More information on this process will be sent shortly. In addition, all scouts must have a health form AB and C. Form C is a health professional certification that must be completed since this is an extended outing per BSA rules.
For our 1st year scouts I would highly recommend Raven Scouts program in the morning. This program will help get your new scouts up rank quickly and is a good primer for learning basic scout skills:
