Camp Cards will be available for Scouts to take home, please check with James LeCroy or Mike Rasmussen for availability.
Update on starting times……Pinewood Derby is hard to nail down exact times for when each den will race. We strongly encourage attendants to show up early and be prepared to stay the whole event.
We plan to hand out awards after every car has raced, so winners will not be announced until after all races, so please stay for the entire event if possible.
We will begin accepting registrants at 9AM. We aim to have the first races at 9:45.
If my link below does not help get you registered, we can just as easily manually enter participants name on day-of.
If your car is out of spec, we will have a mechanics team that can assist.
*If you are under 5 ounces and want to get closer to 5 ounces, you can go to the mechanics station and add weight (or remove weight).
*If you do not fit in the jig, you must shorten the derby car at the mechanic’s station.
We’ll have materials available for minor mods….
Once you have passed inspection, you turn over your car for the rest of the race.
We will have water & lemonade for drinks.
Schedule below is subject to change:
9-9:45 Check-In/Registration
9:45 Lion & Tiger races
10:15 Wolf races
10:30 Bear races
10:50 Webelos races
11:15 AOL Races
11:30 All-Pack Finals Race
12:00 Siblings Race
12:15 Awards Announced
Schedule subject to adjustments.
Update, rules from previous years are also attached in files here. We just want to make sure that no car is disqualified.
We are preparing for the 2024 Pinewood Derby, please register your Scout using the link below so we can easily get them entered into the computer on race day.
This event takes a lot of volunteers….recently we had several parents volunteer, and we are currently coming up with race-day duties for those who volunteered.
Additionally, we don’t want any derby car to be rejected on race-day, so please make sure your car is within specification. There is an official jig is must fit in to qualify, and 5oz or under. We have a Derby Clinic day coming up if you want to test your car in the jig & scale. There is a height, width, length AND ground clearance specification it must meet. If the axle slots are not used, we must be able to see the points of the 4 nails under the car.

Saturday March 2, 2024
Our Pinewood Derby 2024 will be held exactly 1 week before the BSA District Pinewood Derby, if there is anyone interested in attending that derby as well. Winners and participants from our Pack Pinewood Derby can go onto Council’s District-wide Pinewood if they choose to. For those derby cars that do not place in our Pack Derby, it would be a good opportunity to make changes to your car, then take it to District Derby and let it rip. For those that do place in our Pack Derby, it would be a good opportunity to take your derby car to the District Level.
