Friendly reminder to please RSVP for this Saturday’s fishing day kickoff so we have a good idea of how much food to provide. Please have your scout bring their mess kit (plate/cup/utensils) for the meal. We will be out there early, so feel free to come early while the fish are biting best. We will wrap up around 1PM, but we have the shelter all day so feel free to stay.
Feel free to invite family, friends and potential new scouts.

All family members of Pack 99 Scouts and anyone interested in joining Pack 99 is encouraged to attend.

WHEN
September 21, 2024
Official start for Pack 99 is from 9am to 1pm with fishing and outdoor games, but feel free to come earlier (fishing is usually better earlier). Stay for all or part of the time. Please feel free to come early or stay late. The 6 Shelter is rented for Pack 99 the entire day.

FOOD
Pack 99 will have hot dogs, chips, and drinks around lunch time. Please let us know below on the RSVP form how many in your family will be eating, so we can buy the right amount of food. Feel free to bring additional snacks/drinks for your family. Those attending please consider bringing a refillable container/bottle and mess kit/plate and utensils.

COST
Cane Creek charges $4 per vehicle upon entry. There is no other cost.

FISHING GEAR
Please bring rods and bait if you have it. The Park Office has a limited number of poles that can be borrowed with a $10 deposit (i.e., you get $10 back when you return the pole)… please stop in the Park Office if you need one. We’ll have plenty of parents with fishing experience to help any novices on casting, baiting, and other tips. Bring some bait (worms work well) and can be purchased when you enter at the park office or wherever you may normally purchase (or dig up) bait.

FISHING LICENSE
NC residents under 16 years of age are not required to have a fishing license. NC residents 16 years and older are required to have a fishing license, according to state law. Cane Creek Park does not check for licenses. If a NC State enforcement officer happens to stop by while we are there, the officer may request to see a fishing license of any adult who is fishing.
